Vegas Golden Knights vs. Seattle Kraken 10-12-2021


The Golden Knights hosted the expansion Seattle Kraken for the start of the 2021-22 season. Vegas jumped on Seattle early in the opening period. Max Pacioretty scored the season’s first goal 3:10 in and Jonathan Marchessault added one a few minutes later. Goaltender Robin Lehner stopped all nine shots he faced in the first period.

Pacioretty tipped in a Nic Hague laser in the middle period giving the home squad a commanding 3-0 lead. However, Seattle woke up and scored two goals in 1:12 to get within one. After 40 minutes of play the Golden Knights held a 3-2 advantage.

Seattle surprisingly climbed all the way back to tie the game 3-3 in the third period but Vegas would catch a break to regain the lead. Chandler Stephenson legally deflected a puck into the Krakens net off his skate making it a 4-3 contest.

The Golden Knights win their first game of the 2021-22 season 4-3 over the expansion Seattle Kraken. Vegas will head to LA for their first road game of the season on Thursday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 730P.

Preseason Game #6


The Golden Knights hosted old divisional rival Arizona Coyotes for their second to last preseason game before their season opener on October 12th.

Robin Lehner started in net for Vegas and held a scoreless tie for most of the opening period. With 1:09 remaining, Arizona opened the scoring with a lucky puck bounce over Lehner’s shoulder. Arizona held a 1-0 lead after the opening twenty minutes.

The Coyotes doubled their edge early in the second period but William Karlsson cut the lead in half with his third goal of the preseason. Arizona would regain their two goal lead in the final period, putting the game out of reach for Vegas.

The Golden Knights preseason record drops to (3-3) with their 3-1 defeat to the Coyotes. Vegas prepares for the final preseason game on Saturday night in San Jose. Puck drop is scheduled for 5PM.

Preseason Game 4


The Golden Knights traveled back home to face off against the LA Kings in back-to-back nights. Undrafted prospect Daniil Miromanov gave Vegas the first lead of the game with his second goal in consecutive games.

Defenseman Alec Martinez doubled Vegas’ lead in the second period, scoring a one-timer on the power play. Martinez’ goal was the fourth on the man-advantage this preseason. Fellow veteran William Karlsson stretched VGK’s lead to 3-0 :18 seconds into the third period and Miromanov poked in another six minutes later. Vegas goaltender Laurent Brossoit stopped all 37 shots on net to secure the shutout.

The Golden Knights even their preseason record to 2-2 with their 4-0 victory against the Kings. Vegas will have a few days off and prepare for another exhibition game against the Colorado Avalanche. Game is scheduled for 6P PT from Denver, Colorado
