Golden Knights winger Alex Tuch is a highly skilled player and a clear fan favorite. Tuch’s charisma has fit well in Vegas and so has his growth on the ice. The 23-year-old set career highs in Goals (20), Assists (32), Points (52), Plus/Minus (+13), Shooting Percentage (11.1%), Average Ice Time (16:44), and Takeaways (69) in 2018-19.
The Golden Knights organization and Tuch himself was happy with his progression this season. Specifically, hitting that twenty goal mark for the first time in his short career.
Coach Gerard Gallant has used Tuch in many scenarios on the ice. Gallant took advantage of the young forwards versatility using him on separate lines and power play units. Tuch responded by scoring (.70) points per game.
The expectations for Tuch continue to be high, so anything under twenty goals in 2019-2020 would be a disappointment. However, since his first appearance in a Golden Knights jersey the smooth skating forward has gotten better. With the uncertainty of next season’s lineup, Tuch will be a major part of the equation.
Will the Golden Knights promote Tuch to a top six position? Or will they continue to use him as a major scoring threat on the third line. One thing is for sure, Gallant will find a way to get the most out of the offensive forward.
