The Golden Knights hosted the Ottawa Senators for an afternoon matchup on Nevada Day. Ottawa scored 2:40 into the 1st period taking the opening 1-0 lead. The Senators doubled their lead ten minutes later. The Golden Knights offense picked up late in the frame with back-to-back goals in 21 seconds. However, the Senators regained their lead before the break and took a 3-2 advantage into the first intermission.

Ivan Barbashev evened the score 6:40 into the middle frame with his team-leading sixth goal of the season. Late in the 2nd period the Senators snapped the tie and held a 4-3 edge after 40 minutes.

Vegas couldn’t generate much offensively early on in the final frame. Late in the game though, the Golden Knights had several quality chances and capitalized on a late power play opportunity. Tomas Hertl tied the game with a PP goal and Keegan Kolesar gave Vegas the lead a minute later. Barbashev sealed the game with an empty net score. VGK remains undefeated at home with their 6-4 victory over Ottawa.
