The Golden Knights hosted the San Jose Sharks trying to remain undefeated at home. It didn’t take long for Vegas’ offense to get going against the struggling Sharks. In the first four minutes of the game, Tanner Pearson and Jack Eichel had Vegas up 2-0. Late in the frame, Brett Howden notched his fourth goal of the season to give the Golden Knights a 3-0 1st period advantage.
San Jose cut VGK’s lead down to two goals midway through the middle frame but William Karlsson in his season debut jumped on a loose puck :57 seconds later. In the last minute of the 2nd period both teams recorded goals and Vegas led at the end of the frame up 5-2.
Both teams traded chances in the final 20 minutes, but Vegas was able to defend and protect their multiple goal lead. Eventually, Mark Stone picked up VGK’s sixth goal of the night. San Jose tacked one at the end but Brett Howden then scored his second of the game. The Golden Knights captured their fifth home victory and remain unbeaten in Las Vegas.
