3/3 Winner of Adam Kutner’s Ticket & Zamboni Ride Giveaway

The Golden Knights hosted the New Jersey Devils for a midweek, non-conference matchup and we were able to give away tickets and a ride on the Zamboni to some lucky fans. The game got off to a slow start but Vegas began to get going on a late period power play. They wouldn’t convert but the Golden Knights had control heading into the first intermission. After the opening 20 minutes, the game was scoreless.

Max Pacioretty gave Vegas the 1-0 lead :45 seconds into the 2nd period. Robin Lehner continued to stop every shot on net by the Devils. New Jersey had two power-play opportunities but Vegas’ new goaltender kept the visiting team scoreless through two.

 

Leading 1-0, the Golden Knights gave themselves a cushion :37 into the 3rd period. William Karlsson played catch and shoot with Nic Roy giving Vegas a 2-0 edge. Ryan Reaves added his 8th goal of the season eight minutes later to give the Golden Knights a three-goal advantage. Vegas finished off the Devils 3-0 earning Lehner his first shutout as a Golden Knights.

 

Vegas’ record improves to 37-23-8 and remains in first place with 82 points. The team goes on a five-game road trip starting off in Winnipeg on Friday night. Game time is scheduled for 5 PM

3/1 Winner of Adam Kutner’s Ticket & Zamboni Ride Giveaway

The Golden Knights hosted the LA Kings in pursuit of a franchise-best nine-game win streak and we were able to give away tickets and ride on the Zamboni to one lucky fan. The game didn’t begin as planned for Vegas as Anze Kopitar netted two goals in the 1st period. The Golden Knights struggled to get going on offense and trailed 2-0 after the opening 20 minutes.

The Kings stretched their lead to 3-0 midway through the 2nd period. The Golden Knights were awarded a power play and quickly took advantage. Shea Theodore wristed a shot into LA’s net getting within two. The Kings got their three-goal lead back late in the period scoring a power-play goal of their own. The visiting team held a 4-1 edge after 40 minutes.

Trailing by three goals the Golden Knights attempted to make a comeback on multiple 3rd-period power plays. However, LA continued to frustrate Vegas and killed off the penalties. The Kings closed out the game 4-1 and ended the Golden Knights eight-game win streak.

Vegas’ record drops to 36-23-8 but still remains in 1st place with 80 points. The Golden Knights get a day off and prepare for the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. The game is scheduled for 7p.

2/28 Winner of Adam Kutner’s Ticket & Zamboni Ride Giveaway

The Golden Knights and Buffalo Sabres met up for a Friday night matchup on the Las Vegas Strip and we were able to give away tickets and a ride on the Zamboni to some lucky fans. The Sabres struck first 2:16 into the game, taking an early 1-0 lead. Vegas’ Nic Roy tied the game with his 4th goal of the season. New goaltender Robin Lehner saved 8 out of the first 9 shots he faced as a Golden Knight.

Both teams had several scoring chances in the 2nd but both goaltenders were perfect in the period. Each stopping six shots, keeping the game tied 1-1 after 40 minutes played.

The Golden Knights took over the game in the 3rd period. William Karlsson broke the tie with his 14th of the season, and Reilly Smith added his 26th to give Vegas a 3-1 lead. Smith broke his personal best in goals with 16 games remaining. The Golden Knights closed the door on Buffalo down the stretch, and Smith scored an empty-netter to make it 4-1. The Sabres would get a late goal but Vegas would go on to win 4-2.
