Vegas Golden Knights vs San Jose Sharks 4-24-2022

 

The Golden Knights allowed the opening goal for the sixth straight game giving the Sharks the first lead. Minutes later Chandler Stephenson evened the score 1-1 with a power play goal.

Max Pacioretty gave Vegas their first lead of the contest 7:46 into the middle frame. At the midway point of the period William Carrier buried a one time pass from Keegan Kolesar to extend the Golden Knights advantage 3-1. The Sharks scored late in the period to get within one.

Nic Roy stretched the Golden Knights lead 6:35 into the final 20 minutes. Shockingly, the Sharks were able to even the score and force overtime. Vegas eventually lost in a shootout missing out on a very important point.

The Golden Knights record improves to 42-31-6 falling to the Sharks 5-4 in shootouts. Vegas picks up only one point and trail Dallas by three points for the final Wild Card position. The Golden Knights travel to Dallas for the biggest game of the season on Tuesday night. Puck drop against the Stars is set for 5 PM.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Washington Capitals 4-20-2022

 

The Golden Knights gave up the first goal to the Capitals but quickly responded. Alec Martinez tied the game later in the period to make it 1-1 after the opening 20 minutes. After one, Robin Lehner was pulled in favor of Logan Thompson.

Alex Ovechkin scored the only goal of the 2nd period to give Washington a 2-1 advantage after 40 minutes.

Quickly in the 3rd period Evgenii Dadonov tied the game with his 20th goal of the season. Less than a minute later Chandler Stephenson gave Vegas the lead with a power play goal. Late in the period Washington tied the game 3-3 and forced overtime. 

Known for his dramatics, Shea Theodore scored on beautiful individual play to win the game in overtime.

The Golden Knights record improves to 42-31-5 defeating the Capitals 4-3 at home. Vegas picks up two points and trails Dallas by two points for the final Wild Card position. The Golden Knights get a chance to add another two on Sunday night against San Jose. Puck drop for another must win game is set for 7 PM.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Vancouver Canucks 4-6-2022

 

The Golden Knights looked to continue their win streak by hosting divisional rival Vancouver Canucks. Vegas center Jack Eichel gave his team the first lead of the game with his 10th as a Golden Knight. Vancouver responded four minutes later with two goals in a :17 second span. After twenty minutes the visitors held a 2-1 edge.

The Canucks offense continued to push the pace in the 2nd period pressuring the Golden Knights’ defense. Vancouver added two goals to their lead and took a 4-1 advantage into the second intermission.

Quickly into the final period the Golden Knights committed another costly penalty that the Canucks took advantage of. Vancouver stretched their lead to 5-1 scoring their second power play goal of the game.

The Golden Knights record drops to 39-29-4 losing 5-1 to the Canucks. Vegas ends their five game win streak and miss out on an important two points. The players will get a chance to rebound on Saturday night against the Arizona Coyotes. Puck drop is set for 7 PM.
