The Golden Knights were trying to win their third game in a row with a victory over the Dallas Stars. It looked like the Stars had opened the scoring early in the contest, but it was ruled that goaltender Adin Hill had frozen the puck before reaching the net. After the goal was called back Vegas stole the momentum and drew several penalties, setting them up with multiple power play opportunities. Tomas Hertl continued his dominance on the man-advantage and scored the game’s first goal. After the opening 20 minutes, the home team held a 1-0 edge.
Dallas tied the game early on in the middle frame. Towards the end of the period Vegas was awarded a power play opportunity which Jack Eichel snapped the 1-1 tie. 68 seconds later Nic Roy extended Vegas’ lead to 3-1 before the break.
The Stars outshot the Golden Knights in the final period, but Hill was strong in net allowing just one 6-on-5 goal. After 60 minutes the Golden Knights won 3-2 and are one point back in the President’s Trophy chase.
The Golden Knights record improves to 18-7-3 defeating the Stars 3-2 at T-Mobile Arena.
